Togouchi Blended Whisky

The secret is the tunnel: this blend of malt and grain whiskies matures in an old railway tunnel carved into the mountain by the Togouchi river, at around 14 °C and 80% humidity, where angel's share drops to nearly zero. Made by Chugoku Jozo — today Sakurao, founded in 1918 — it traditionally combined imported Scotch and Canadian whiskies. Since the 2021 JSLMA rule, the current expression is distilled and matured entirely at Sakurao itself. 40%, 700 ml.
