Shetland Reel Blended Malt

Blended malt from Saxa Vord Distillery (Shetland Distillery Company brand) and the only Scotch whisky bottled in the Shetland Islands. Each batch combines cask-strength single malts selected by master distiller Stuart Nickerson, blended on mainland Scotland and ferried to the island of Unst, where they are reduced to 47% with pure Unst water and bottled by hand. Batch 1 (2015, 1,800 bottles): four Speyside and one Islay malt, Gold at San Francisco 2016. Nose: soft peat (not medicinal), butter, vanilla and toffee; palate: sweet dried fruits, dark fudge, dates, raisins, peat and black pepper; finish: long, warming, with dried fruits, smoke and pepper.
