Bastille 1789 Whisky

The pioneering whisky of the family-owned Maison Daucourt, in Angoulême (Charente), launched in 2010: a blend fusing around 50% malted barley and 50% raw wheat, double-distilled in the region's typical Charente gooseneck copper pot stills and rounded with a triple cask finish in bourbon, Sauternes and cognac. A nose of vanilla, apricot, pear and sweet cereal with a hint of grape; soft and rounded on the palate, with honey, stone fruit, bread crust and sweet spice; a fruity finish with a vinous aftertaste and a whisper of oak and chocolate. 40%, 700 ml.
