The Lakes Distillery

An English distillery founded in 2011 by Paul Currie (son of Arran's founder) in a renovated 1850s Victorian farmstead beside Bassenthwaite Lake in Cumbria. It uses water from the River Derwent, has distilled since December 2014, and its sherry-led (Oloroso and PX) whiskymaker style was developed by Dhavall Gandhi, ex-Macallan. The heavy-sherry 'Whiskymaker's Reserve' series concluded with edition No. 7 in 2023.
