The craft distillery of the Komasa family, a shochu house over 140 years old, opened in 2017 on Fukiagehama — Japan's longest sand beach — facing the East China Sea. Three Miyake copper pot stills and an eclectic cask yard built around a re-charred ex-shochu cask, ex-bourbon, sherry and new oak. 'Mellow Land, Mellow Whisky.'
