Distillerie Castan

A family distillery in Occitania, near Albi and Gaillac, where the Castans have distilled as travelling bouilleurs de cru since 1941 with their 1929 red copper still, still in use. In 2007, Sébastien and Céline Castan built the region's first whisky distillery with a grain-to-bottle project: their own organic barley, malting, fermentation, distillation, ageing and bottling all on one site. Their Vilanova — matured in French white-wine casks and bottled batch by batch — is one of the faces of the French whisky revival.
