Abhainn Dearg Distillery

Craft distillery founded in 2008 by Mark Tayburn at Carnish on the Isle of Lewis, the first legal whisky distillery in the Outer Hebrides in almost two centuries. It uses only island-sourced raw materials, including local spring water, and distils peated and unpeated spirit in custom-made stills based on the design of a former illicit pot still used on the island.
