Old Pulteney 18 YO

700ml presentation. Aged for 18 years, this whisky is made from a combination of bourbon and Spanish oak casks. Drawing its character and colour entirely from the casks in which it has matured, it is deeply comforting. The indulgence extends throughout this single malt, with chocolate and spices defining its character while allowing the influence of more vibrant, citrusy flavours. ABV: 46% Nose: Rich notes of raisins and prunes accompanied by aromas of dark chocolate and dried fruits. There are also sweet and creamy notes — caramel, honey and vanilla intertwine with malt aromas and a touch of salinity. Palate: Intensely spicy and warm. Even somewhat dry at first, but gradually the flavours open up, giving way to notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Then more fruity notes emerge: raisins and forest fruits, ripe oranges, cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of salt.
