Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength
Glenfarclas
Description
700 ml and 1 litre presentations. It is the highest-strength single malt whisky available on the market, yet remarkably smooth. It is exactly as it was drunk in the 19th century — straight from the cask at the strength gained during maturation. In this way Glenfarclas reaches you as natural and perfect as the day it left its home in the Highlands, its flavour preserved and suspended in time until the crucial moment of truth, when the bottle is uncorked and the autumn sun grants it freedom. Considered one of the three finest whiskies in its class by the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition. At 60 degrees, it is the highest-strength Single Malt on the market and the historic grandfather of the Cask Strength category. It was created in honour of George S. Grant, who would bottle a cask and leave it at cask strength to give to friends and family at Christmas. Notes: Colour: Deep golden with peaty reflections. Nose: Complex — oak, apples, pears, and an inviting toffee sweetness. Palate: Dry and straightforward, quickly evolving to reveal savoury spices combined with oak and sherried fruit notes. Finish: Incredibly smooth for its strength, wonderfully warming, with persistent smokiness that remains very rounded. Strength: 60%
