Evan Williams Black Label
Evan
Description
750 ml presentation. Region: Kentucky. Evan Williams Black is a smooth, easy-drinking bourbon named after Evan Williams, who in 1783 opened Kentucky's first commercial distillery along the banks of the Ohio River. Today, Evan Williams is the second-best-selling Kentucky Straight Bourbon in the U.S. and the world, distilled just blocks from where Evan himself built his distillery. Age: 4–5 years. Tasting notes: Colour — Medium amber. Nose — Light with deep vanilla and mint. Palate — Notes of oak, brown sugar, and caramel. Finish — Medium to long. The original distillery was built on land in Bardstown owned by a man named William Heavenhill. According to president Max Shapira, the story of how Mr Heavenhill's name became its current form comes down to a typographical error on paperwork sent to state officials in Frankfort. When told that reverting the name to Heavenhill would cost $10, it was deemed unnecessary and the misspelling remained.
