Tasting Notes. Nose: Confident liquorice-bourbon notes with an almost perfect bittersweet balance; burnt honeycomb and caramel abound too. Palate: Exceptional richness and shine to the enormous sweetness of the barley and oak; again there’s a great bourbon cut to the cloth with all the liquorice and molasses sugar normally associated; but the barley adds that extra dimension. Finish: Long, marvellously layered oak offering variations on a sweet and dry theme; a silky touch with a bit of toffee cream to the death.
