Amrut Peated Single Malt
Amrut
Description
Tasting Notes. Nose: Unusually dry peat; not unlike the smell of peat absorbed by an old leather armchair; a touch of citrus too. Palate: Despite the nose, the immediate sensation is of being caressed by molasses sugar and then a surge of peat notes. As they become more assertive, the experience turns a touch drier and spicier, though not without the molasses refusing to yield. Finish: The quality of the spirit and the casks it’s matured in shows through in the crystalline depth to the end. Everything is clean on the palate and the caramelized vanillas wrap the phenols for a comfortable, clean close.
