Mars Komagatake Distillery

Japan's highest distillery, at 798 m beneath Mt Komagatake in Nagano's Central Alps. Built by Hombo Shuzo in 1985, it closed in 1992 and resumed distilling in 2011; officially renamed Mars Komagatake in 2024. Its 'clean and rich' house style is carried by unpeated malts from its Miyake copper pot stills.
