Clynelish

A coastal distillery in northern Sutherland, near the village of Brora, with origins in the old Clynelish founded in 1819; the new distillery was built in 1967 on an adjacent site. Owned by Diageo, it is known for its characteristic waxy, maritime character, produced by careful management of oily residue in distillation, giving it a unique texture prized by blenders and enthusiasts alike.
